Christos Panayi Demetri
Chris, O Harilaos, O Pafitis, a loving husband, father, and friend to many was born in Pomos Cyprus, the family name of "Footas".
He was the youngest of eight siblings, five brothers and two sisters of which one was his twin.

He left Cyprus in 1955 and came to England. He joined the merchant navy in 1960 where he served many memorable years and also shared good times with the entertainer Tommy Steele.

He finally dropped anchor and hit dry land in 1967.

Chris was a man of many trades but most will remember him as being one of the first importers, importing fruit and veg from Cyprus and the owner of the Palmers Green Amusements (PGA's).

In 1987 he sold up and left England to start afresh back home in Cyprus, taking his wife and two sons with him.
They opened the Skylight restaurant in Limassol which they ran for fourteen years.

Chris was a fun loving character, a compassionate man, cheeky and much to the amusement of his wife Androulla, had a wonderful way with birds, not just the feathered type! He had a heart of gold but also had a fiery temper that took the better of him at times. He always knew what he wanted and knew how to get it. Chris always spoke his mind, thought he could take on the world and was afraid of nothing.

However in 2003, he lost his younger son Andrew. This hit him very hard as it would for any parent losing a child.

Unfortunately, ill health took the better of him and eventually he had no more will to fight.

Chris will always be remembered as a strong man, that loved life, the sea and was always there for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
